As all England fans know, the future success of our national team is down to the quality of our home-grown talent.

In order to produce world class players, we need a world class coaching environment for our kids. Currently, that responsibility rests solely on our football academies and centres of excellence.

There are hundreds of kids between the ages of 9 and 16 that are attending either a football academy or centre of excellence every week in the the hope that someday they will make it as a pro. Unfortunately, few ever succeed!

As a parent of an aspiring footballer, I know how frustrating it can be watching your child develop as a player, not to mention the financial commitment involved in taking your child to an academy every week and then following them all over the country every Sunday!

Football Academy life – why do we do it?

Well, we love our kids and simply want the best for them, which is exactly why we take them out of the Sunday League and entrust their welfare to these so called elite training centres that are managed by both the Premier League and Football League clubs! Are we doing the right thing? Statistically the answer is a resounding no due to the overwhelming odds stacked against most young players in the current academy system. At present, the vast majority of kids in the system never make it as a pro footballer.

This website is dedicated to all the young footballers that turn up for training several times a week, spend most Sunday’s playing matches around the country, giving up their Saturday evenings and sleep overs, and many other pleasures that normal kids take for granted!
